Poker guidelines

Poker has some key principles to bare in mind

There are a number of important principles to bear in mind when playing poker, this is especially true for beginners

Here are a few guidelines to remember when playing:

1) The goal is to earn money (whilst trying to have fun is important, this is not the objective for serious players)
If you have fun yourself, take note of the other players and their seriousness. Take note of every player around the table as well as the gains and losses of each, you will see that the losers are those that play to party around.

Why is this important?  Because-they are involved themselves often in on the part while they have weak cards in hands that will not allow them to beat their opponents.

2) Play the good parties…
Ask yourself the question:  What differentiates your game from that of your opponents?

Answer: your 2 pockets cards.  All this play, that is to say before the 5 cards of the draw is visible.

You must not engage yourself in a game that your pocket cards give you an advantage on your opponents.

For that, do not participate in the pre-flop that if your pockets cards form the combinations that bring you lower.

Why?  Because the probability to form a winning hand with these pocket cards is pretty big.

And the psychology in all that, when is it the right time to bluff in Poker?  Contrast to popular belief, bluff is only rarely used and does not practice essentially with the professionals of the Poker.  Before learning the psychology of the game,it is important to learn the technical and strategic side of the game.

Texas Hold’em rules for beginners

Beginners Poker can be daunting for people new to the game

Texas Hold’em is by far the most popular form of poker played worldwide, but the rules are complex for beginners

Everyone at some point in their life has attempted to play poker, particularly Texas Hold’em with friends or strangers. The problem is though it takes a while to get used to the rules and general play of the game, particularly the combination of cards needed to get ahead in a game. Luckily there are a number of resources online that helped me understand the rules of Texas Hold’em. In this post I will begin to look at the basics and some of the rules. I will then go into more details in later posts as there is a lot to cover!

To win the game, you basically need the best combination of five cards. To know how to win, it’s essential that you know the hand rankings.

A deck of cards usually contains 52 cards and 4 suits.

These are hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades

Ace is always the high card in poker. The suits have no rankings as they are all equal.

In the next post I will go more into rankings!

Beginners guide to poker

Beginners guide to Poker

I have set up PokerBound to document my learning process as I enter the world of online poker. It was only during university that I got my first taste of poker and since then, my interest has kind of drifted in and out. However, hearing about all the potential cash that can be made and the thrill of playing, I have decided to learn more and share this experience.

Reading about Phil Hellmuth Junior, the seven time winner of the World Series of Poker, has really captivated me. His book “Play Poker Like the Pros” has been a great source of inspiration in my learning process. I plan to examine many of the tips he has given to help other new poker players out there some tips on how to play professionally (even if you want to play just for fun).

Hi everyone
